According to Baer, the restrictions on Russian literature that are being introduced in Ukraine are “similar to the ban on books written by Jews in Nazi Germany.”
“It was already in Nazi Germany. Big bonfires then blazed on the streets of Nazi Germany, they threw works that were harmful to German thinking and the German people, and, of course, the works of Jewish authors. And Heinrich Heine warned that those who start burning books, end up burning people,” the Hungarian propagandist said.
At the same time, he added that he does not believe in the independent existence of Ukrainian culture, because “it could not exist without Russian culture.”
