Orban on Ukraine’s accession to the EU – bureaucratic obstacles need to be removed

As Deputy Secretary of State in the Office of the Hungarian Prime Minister Bertalan Havasi said, Viktor Orban, in today’s conversation with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, assured of support for granting candidate status to the EU.

In addition, Orban stressed that bureaucratic obstacles should be removed as soon as possible before Ukraine’s actual entry into the EU. He also noted that this is exactly the position he will voice at the summit in Brussels this week.

The Hungarian prime minister also added that his country has received almost 800,000 Ukrainian refugees and is ready for further cooperation in the energy sector, transporting grain by rail and receiving even more students from Ukraine.
