Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán made a splash in the US. He opened the Conservative Political Action Conference in Dallas, Texas, with a memorable speech. He called on American conservatives to unite against left-wing progressives, the world agencies reported.
Orban was invited to speak at the event, where former President Donald Trump is also expected to speak. The Hungarian Prime Minister took to the podium shouting “AWAKE NOT WOKE”; awake, not awakened. And repeated his thesis that progressives are trying to separate Western civilization from its Christian roots. He demanded greater control over the institutions in Washington and in Brussels given the upcoming US midterm elections in November.
Orbán told how his country in the heart of Europe has been fighting for Christianity for 500 years, how he himself is an “old-fashioned freedom fighter” and the longest-serving prime minister in Europe, but also a father of five children and five grandchildren. And most the important thing: “I am the leader of a country that day after day is under siege by progressive liberals.”
Just don’t talk to liberals, do your own thing or it won’t work. “This is a culture war,” said the Hungarian prime minister, stressing that for him the liberals have “Marxist plans.”
The antidote? “We must restore the life of our churches, families and institutions,” he warned. Hungary is “the nation of David against the awakened globalists,” Orbán said.
“The political left knows no borders,” he added, adding that it wanted to separate Western civilizations from their Christian roots.
Less transvestites, more Chuck Norris” Orbán summed up his country’s security policy and said that the Hungarian capital Budapest is “one of the few big European cities” where it is safe to walk the streets at night. He proudly announced that Hungary is a lean country, with low taxes and tax exemptions for women with many children. “So if you’re not married yet, you should find a Hungarian wife right away,” he said to the American men in front of him.
