Orbán stated that cooperation with the Russian Federation is in Hungary’s interests, but he is said to be concerned that Moscow’s relations with Europe “have suffered so much as a result of the war that they may not recover for a long time.”
According to Orban, Hungary should “seriously think” about how to build political and economic relations with Russia in the next 10-15 years.
After Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, Orbán has been repeatedly criticized for not being sufficiently firm in relation to the Russian Federation and its president, Vladimir Putin.
