Orange vigilance for heavy rains and thunderstorms has been lifted in the North, West and East zones, announces Météo France Réunion, which is however keeping the whole of the island on yellow vigilance, this Tuesday, April 25.
Météo France announces, this Tuesday, April 25, at the end of the afternoon, the lifting of the orange vigilance for heavy rains and thunderstorms in the North, West and East zones.
“The showers present during this afternoon are losing intensity and orange vigilance is no longer justified”, assure the specialists.
During this morning’s rain episode, the most significant accumulations were noted in the North-West and North of the department:
– Port: 76mm.
– La Possession: 42 mm (rocked coastal road).
– Saint-Paul Medlar wood: 40 mm.
– Snag Plain: 38 mm.
– Pond at Vieille place (Salazie): 30 mm.
On the other hand, Météo France Réunion maintains the whole of the island in yellow vigilance heavy rains and thunderstorms. “A humid and unstable northern sector flow remains over the department ahead of a cold front”, specifies Meteo France. The atmosphere is still humid and unstable before the return of a drier SE flow.
If a few showers are still expected in the evening, the rainy activity will gradually subside
over time. In the second part of the night, the clouds still present remained without significant activity with at most maritime entries on the South and South-West coast such as towards Saint-Joseph, Saint-Pierre or even Saint-Leu.
