Snow is expected overnight from Wednesday to Thursday

The models remain uncertain as to the exact height of powder snow expected, but one thing is certain: snow should appear in the evening in the Occitanie region. This Wednesday, January 10, 2024, Météo France placed Tarn, Aude, Aveyron and Hérault on orange snow and ice alert.

In its bulletin, the institute specifies that “ THE expected snow depths are of the order of a few cm in the plains of Aude, Tarn and Aveyron, but will be significantly greater on the relief with generally around twenty cm above 800 m in the departments in orange.». « In At the end of the night, we expect 1 to 3 cm on the Toulouse plain, but heights of 5 to 8 cm from 300-400 m on the hills of Aude and Tarn, as well as on the Pyrenean foothills. On the Hérault, the rains will be abundant. », Specifies the weather channel.

This morning, the first snowflakes appeared in Saint-Pons-de-Thomières, on the border between Tarn and Hérault.
