Telecom operator Orange Belgium will increase its prices of fixed internet and TV services for new and existing customers from 17 January next year. The price increase is in response to the continued rise in costs, the company confirms.

Orange refers, among other things, to the wholesale rates for access to the cable infrastructure that it has to pay itself. The prices of modems and decoders have also risen as a result of the worldwide shortage of computer chips, it says. Finally, wage and energy costs are also rising ‘and that makes this price adjustment necessary’.
Specifically, the prices of the Love, Home and Boost formulas will be increased. For the services including fixed internet, an additional 2 euros per month is added. For the services including fixed internet and television, there is a price increase of 3 euros per month. Customers will be personally informed in the coming weeks, according to Orange Belgium.

At the same time, the speed of the fixed Internet will also be increased: from 100 to 150 Mbps for downloads and 10 to 15 Mbps for uploads in the Telenet coverage area, and from 5 to 7.5 Mbps for uploads in the VOO coverage area. The prices of other services remain unchanged.
Concurrent Proximus will increase its prices for a number of bundles from 1 January, while Telenet already implemented a price increase in the summer.
