Orange producers request loans from Financiera Rural

Tihuatlán, Ver.- Although the price of oranges has improved, producers require financial support with soft interest loans for the maintenance of the orchards, said Francisco Sánchez Rodríguez, from the Integradora de Cítricos company.

He mentioned that for this reason loans are processed with Financiera Rural, amounts that are immediately dispersed among around four hundred producers from Tihuatlán, Castillo de Teayo and some from Álamo.

Each one, he said, will receive credits for different amounts, for example, 110 thousand pesos for every 20 hectares, that is, 5 thousand 500 pesos per hectare.

Francisco Sánchez added that these funds are required to carry out pruning work, remove dry-stick, fertilization, veneer and others for the maintenance of the trees, so that production improves in the immediate cycle.

He stressed that these are soft interest loans, payable at the end of each orange harvest cycle, with the commitment not to lag behind to avoid falling into overdue portfolio and continue to be subject to credits in the future.
