Orange December and skin cancer prevention

December Orange is the new campaign that strengthens the cure for skin cancer. This disease is caused by the abnormal and uncontrolled growth of the cells that make up the skin. The cells are arranged forming layers according to which they are affected, establishing different types of cancer.

Skin cancer is not only related to the skin, as many believe, but also to the general health of each individual, it is the most common and predominant type, being influenced by factors such as sedentary lifestyle, stress, nutrition, poor quality of sleep., diseases in general, metabolic and hormonal alterations, alcoholism, depression, obesity, anxiety, drugs and so on.

The most common can be basal cell carcinoma and squamous cell carcinoma. The most aggressive and complex cancer is melanoma, which is also related to sudden sun exposure and severe sunburn. With the arrival of summer, people tend to enjoy the sun for long periods of time and neglect the use of sunscreen and abuse tanning products, putting their health at risk.

Basal cell or squamous cell carcinoma can be characterized by reddish and sometimes ulcerated lesions, which visibly never heal. Melanoma, on the other hand, is defined by an asymmetrical darkened lesion, with irregular borders and various colors of varying sizes. It may be accompanied by satellite lesions or enlarged ganglia.

Both basal cell and squamous cell carcinoma are more peaceful, but melanoma can metastasize, which means that the cancer has spread to other organs. The December campaign, orange, has the objective of early prevention so that there is a greater possibility of a cure.

Dermatologists say that the use of sunscreen and proper nutrition are essential for a healthier life. The biggest benefit of sunscreen is defense against sunburn and skin cancer caused by excessive exposure to ultraviolet radiation. And it also helps in the development of allergies and premature aging.
