This April 25, the First Provincial Meeting of Women Creators for Gender Non-Violence was held in Cienfuegos, as part of the celebrations for the 205th anniversary of the former Fernandina de Jagua neighborhood.
Under the motto “Paint yourself orange with your transformative force,” the La Perla del Sur boulevard hosted the exhibition of the work of various state institutions and private enterprises.
Southern artisans with their creations endorse the motto: “Paint yourself orange with your transformative force.”
Thus, the day had the essential objective of showing the role of women in each sphere of society and the relationship between their innovative thinking and their social, economic and political advancement.
Likewise, participants in the fair promoted their services with an excellent reception among the public.
At the beginning of the day, the highest authorities of the province and representatives of the women’s organization at all levels attended, as well as leaders of other political and mass organizations.
The event is part of the year of the XI Congress of the Federation of Cuban Women (FMC) and the sixteenth of the physical disappearance of its eternal president, Vilma Espín Guilloisa genuine expression of the fight for the rights of Cuban women and the main promoter of these programs.
The Center for Innovation and Management of Local Development (Cigedel) of the main municipality, attended with several of its projects.
On the 25th of each month the Orange Dayto raise awareness and prevent violence against women and girls around the world and was held for the first time in 2014, at the initiative of the United Nations Organization (UN).
