Orange ensures the broadcast of LaLiga and the Champions League for another year for next season. After its agreement with Dazn to broadcast half of the LaLig gamesa, the French operator has reached an agreement with Telefónica to buy the rights to the remaining 175 matches of the national championship in 2022-2023. Financial terms of the deal are unknown.
To this is added the purchase for one more year of the Champions League matches and the rest of European competitions. The French company has already opted for the same model in recent years. After securing the Champions League for one more season, it will be able to offer all football in Spain, from First Division matches to the Europa League and the Conference League.
His agreement with Dazn had been negotiated for months, although it was not until a few weeks ago that it was unlocked. Dazn had already opted to freely market its LaLiga package through its app or other operators. Telefónica, in addition, paid 280 million a year to Dazn to integrate its five games per day in its OTT during the five years of the contract.

Only with the sale of its lot to Telefónica, the British platform had already recovered almost 70% of the original investment, of which 410 million remained to be covered. Orange TV will integrate a specific linear channel from the Dazn LaLiga package and the rest of its sports offer.
Currently, and after Vodafone exited this market in 2019, Orange is the only telecommunications company that tries to overshadow Telefónica with the football offer. For the 2020-2021 season, Orange paid the Spanish company 300 million euros for the broadcast of LaLiga.
