According to Météo France, in the middle of the night from Tuesday to Wednesday, the disturbance affects the Grand Est region with light snowfall as far as the plain. We expect a light dusting on the three departments placed in orange vigilance this night, the Meuse, Haute-Marne and the Ardennes, around 1 cm and locally up to 3 cm on the heights.

In the second part of the night, freezing rains replace snow, first in the Ardennes around 3 a.m., then on the Meuse and Haute-Marne between 5 a.m. and 7 a.m.
This freezing precipitation lasted for several hours in these three departments, until Wednesday morning. The intensities and quantities are low, but these freezing phenomena can be problematic for highways.
In Moselle, the ice should remain local and not generalized. The Moselle furrow is the most exposed area, especially the west of the department on a Metz / Thionville axis. Watch out for the A31, A30 and A4.
School buses canceled in the Meuse
The Meuse prefecture canceled school buses from 6 am to 7 pm on January 27, 2021. Schools will be open and will welcome students.
Pascale Trimbach, prefect of the Meuse, calls for vigilance and the greatest caution by limiting all travel to what is strictly necessary and to postpone those not presenting a real emergency.
At the end of Wednesday morning, the warmth becomes general and the rain replaces the freezing precipitation, putting an end to this winter episode.
