The heat will put a yellow and orange risk (important risk) this Friday, July 12, in a total of 32 provinces in a good part of the interior of the peninsula – among them Ourense, Pontevedra and Lugo – and the Balearic Islands due to temperatures of up to 40ºC, according to the prediction of the State Meteorological Agency (AEMET).
Thus, this Friday Albacete, Cuenca, Guadalajara, Toledo, Ávila, Zamora, Lleida, Madrid and Valencia, Huesca, Zaragoza and Jaén will be at orange level while Almería, Córdoba Granada, Teruel, Ciudad Real, Burgos, León, Palencia, Salamanca , Segovia, Soria, Valladolid, Barcelona, Tarragona, Alicante, Badajoz, Cáceres, Lugo, Ourense, Pontevedra, Ibiza and Formentera, Mallorca and Murcia will have yellow level notices.
According to AEMET, provinces such as Madrid, Lleida, Guadalajara or Albacete may reach 40ºC tomorrow. As for the Balearic Islands, temperatures can reach 36ºC in the interior and northeast of Mallorca and 35ºC in the north of Ibiza.
With the rise in temperatures, slightly cloudy or clear skies will predominate in most of the country, except for intervals of low clouds in Galicia, western Cantabrian, western Andalusia, in the Strait area and in the north of the Canary Islands.
In addition, according to AEMET, throughout the day medium and high cloud cover will increase in part of the Peninsula and the Balearic Islands, especially in the southwest quadrant of the peninsula. Some daytime cloudiness is also expected in the Pyrenees, where an isolated shower or storm is not ruled out.
On the temperatures, the daytime will suffer a decrease in the southwest of the peninsula. On the contrary, they will experience a rise in areas of the northern half and eastern third, as well as in the Balearic Islands. As for the night, they will ascend in a good part of the Peninsula.
Finally, north winds will blow in Galicia, Cantabrian, upper Ebro and the Canary Islands and there will be a predominance of light winds in the rest.
