JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi visited two ports in East Nusa Tenggara, namely the Kalabahi Port in Alor Regency and Laurentius Say Port in Maumere, Sikka Regency to see the performance Boat Sea Toll, Friday (14/01/2022).

In his review, Budi instructed that the service sea ​​toll can be optimized for logistics delivery to various remote areas.

According to him, there are a number of efforts that need to be made to optimize services boat sea ​​highway, namely speeding up docking times from one port to another and optimizing the use of digital sea toll ship services in collaboration with the Ministry of Transportation and BRI.

“Besides that, it also prevents delays in the arrival of ships. What used to be one route could be 14-20 days, it can be reduced to 10 days,” added Budi.

Furthermore, to speed up the movement time of sea toll vessels is to add a number of port facilities, for example for loading and unloading activities. So that the movement of ships from one area to another can be faster.

The Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub) has also collaborated with Bank BRI as an effort to utilize digital services, namely by integrating the Sitolaut application with digital banking services from BRI.

Kalabahi Port, Alor, currently serves the sea toll route, namely T-14, with the following routes: Tanjung Perak-Larantuka-Lembata-Kalabahi-Tanjung Perak.

Budi said that his staff and ship operators were able to optimize the cargo of subsidized pioneer ships that served passenger and goods transportation at the Port of Laurentius Say Maumere, Sikka Regency.

This needs to be done to balance the costs of subsidies that have been issued (cost) with the amount of cargo transported.

Currently, Laurentius Say Maumere Port serves three pilot boat routes, namely: First, R29 with route: Laurentius Say/Maumere-Palue-Maurole-Marapokot-Reo-Labuan Bajo-Bima-Benoa-Bima-Labuan Bajo-Reo-Marapokot-Maurole- Palue-Laurentius Say/Maumere.

Second, R30 with the route Laurentius Say/Maumere-Marapokot-Reo-Bonerate-Selayar-Makassar-Selayar-Bonerate-Reo-Marapokot-Laurentius Say/Maumere.

Third, R31 with route Laurentius Say/Maumere-Pemana-Batuata-Banabungi/Pasarwajo-Wakatobi-Kendari-Kolonedale-Kendari-Wakatobi-Banabung/Pasarwajo-Batuata-Pemana-Laurentius Say/Maumere.
