Andrejs Osokins is a world-renowned Latvian pianist who regularly performs in legendary European concert halls both in solo concerts and with orchestras conducted by outstanding conductors. The pianist’s concerts are full of emotions, love and beautiful piano music, they surprise with the musician’s convincing sense of different music styles, charisma and virtuosity, as well as wonderful interpretations of compositions.

Andrejs Osokins is also the author and implementer of the idea of ”Osokin Freedom Festival @ 152″. This year the festival is taking place for the second time, from July 7 to 11, offering listeners concerts with the participation of well-known artists in Latvia. These include actor Ģirts Krūmiņš, saxophonist Deniss Paškevičs, guitarist Rihards Lībietis, composer Raimonds Tiguls, singer Katrīna Gupalo, violinist Magdalēna Geka and others.
What is the most extreme thing you have ever done in your life?
I’ve surfed in Portugal – it was exciting, extreme and a lot of fun.
One of the most touching moments in life…
Dare to start my own festival with like-minded people last year, immediately after the lifting of the first state of emergency, which was a bold step, but the result was very moving for both me and the audience. I hope that the second “Osokina Freedom Festival @ 152” will be a great success in July this year as well.

Optimism every day. It is definitely a habit that benefits everyone’s well-being.
What are your bad habits?
I am uncontrollable in my creativity.
What is the most valuable lesson learned of a lifetime?
Nothing is more accurate than the famous Latin saying Art is long, life is short Art is eternal, life is short.
A book or movie that you would recommend to others to see / read.
Ingmar Bergman’s film The Seventh Seal, which is very relevant today. I recommend reading something easy and optimistic from the books, such as the works of Haruki Murakami or, if there is a lot of time, Stephen King, because it will be very difficult to stop without reading his novels until the end.
What music do you listen to?
Both classical and non-classical, the key to being a talented musician is met.
