The dean optics of Ciempozuelos, Optical Madrid XXI, has delivered 1,100 euros to the San Juan de Dios social center to support the most disadvantaged families and neighbors of the municipality through its social work. After 27 years giving away Christmas lottery tickets to all its clients, the clinic has decided to donate in full everything they would have allocated to the purchase of tickets to the Ciempozuelan NGO. Much of the donation will be used to defray the expenses of the soup kitchen in Ciempozuelos, where more than 300 people attend every day.
“We know how bad many families in the town are going through because we maintain close contact with the dining room,” says Pedro Cáceres, director of Óptica Madrid XXI, “this was the best destination that this money could have.” Optics customers have also applauded the company’s initiative. “In addition to helping, we have avoided the crowds that occurred in the clinic for the delivery of the lottery and as things are now I think it was a very wise decision,” adds Pedro.
From the San Juan de Dios Social Center they have also thanked the optician for their donation. “Without a doubt, a great gift from Kings for many of our neighbors,” they wrote through social networks.
Optical Madrid XXI (c / Jerónimo del Moral 12 | 918 93 21 28) has served in Ciempozuelos since 1993 and collaborates annually with the social work of San Juan de Dios.
