The only Optibet hockey league on Tuesday (OHL) won the game “Prizma” / IHS against Daugavpils “Dinaburga”.
“Prizma” / IHS won “Dinaburg” with 5: 4 (0: 2, 2: 0, 3: 2) in their field.
The first period of the game ended with 2: 0 in favor of the guests. In the third minute Timotejs Filipovs discovered the result of the game, but already half a minute later Dmitrijs Seļutins doubled the lead. In the second half of the second period, Rihards Krastiņš and Renārs Cipruss stood out in the ranks of the hosts, the result becoming a draw 2: 2.
In the final 20 minutes, the “prisms” turned out better. In the third minute of the period, Kristaps Riekstins put the home team in the lead for the first time, but Māris Jānis Graudiņš’s two goals soon gave a safer advantage – 5: 2. In the 50th minute Artyom Tretyakov stood out in the Daugavpils team, but the majority six minutes later after Sergei Pechura’s pass was realized by Vladislav Barkovsky. They were the last goal in the game, celebrating victory in the fierce battle of “Prizma” / IHS.
Experienced Armands Bērziņš closed the match with three assists.
Leading the tournament table with 21 points in 12 matches is “Olimp” / ”Venta 2002”, followed by “Liepāja” with 17 points. The leading trio with 13 points in 11 matches is closed by “Mogo” / LSPA, followed by “Zemgale” / LLU with ten points in six dues. Seven points in 11 games is “Prizma” / IHS, the Hockey School “Riga” has scored one less in nine matches, but “Dinaburg” has not scored in seven duels.
In the 2020/2021 season OHL plays “Mogo” / LSPA, “Olimp” / ”Venta 2002”, “Zemgale” / LLU, Hockey school “Riga”, Daugavpils “Dinaburga”, “Prizma” / IHS and “Liepājas” .
Last season, eight teams played in the Latvian Super League, but in the 2020/21 season there will be one team less, because “Kurbads” will not play in the tournament.
Last season, the playoffs were not played, but the winner of the local championship was declared “Olimp”. The newcomer to the tournament won the decisive points after “Riga” did not come to the last match of the season with the “Kurbads” team.
With its success, the Olimp earned the OHL the opportunity to compete in the Continental Cup organized by the International Hockey Federation (IIHF), but the international competition was canceled.
