As a tribute, Winfrey shared a video of a party that was given for her father Vernon a week earlier. It shows how a friend of Oprah, gospel singer Wintley Phipps, sings to Oprah’s father.

“He felt the love and enjoyed it until he could no longer speak,” Oprah wrote on Saturday with the images. “Yesterday, with the family gathered around his bed, I witnessed the moment when the man responsible for my life breathed his last. At his passing, we felt peace entering the room.”

The presenter also said that “everything is fine”. “Peace continues. Thank you for your prayers and good thoughts,” she wrote.
