Erdogan will evacuate all the refugees he brought in if he comes to power: opposition party leader
Ankara: The leader of the main opposition Republican People’s Party, Kemal Kilicdarogu, said that if he wins the second round of voting in Turkey on May 28, he will evacuate all the refugees in the country. He also tweeted that the Erdogan government has brought refugees to the country on a large scale.
“Erdogan, you failed to protect the country’s borders and glory. You were deliberately bringing over 10 million refugees into the country. If I come to power, I will send them back home,’ he said.
At the same time, Al Jazeera reported that the number of Kilikdarogu refugees was presented without any basis of figures.
Middle East Eye also reported that there are four million refugees in Turkey, according to the United Nations. Most of them are Syrians. But because of the country’s long-standing policy of treating the Syrian people as guests.
Earlier, the presence of Syrians had caused widespread anger in Turkey. At the same time, both political parties had promised to send the Syrian people back.
Kilicdarogu’s statement has already been discussed on social media. Most of the comments are that Kilicdarogu has a natural hatred for refugees.
No one could win Turkey’s election on Sunday. In the first round of voting, AKP candidate President Recep Tayyip Erdogan won 49.50 percent of the votes, but could not cross the half-vote mark. Kilicdaroglu won 44.89 percent of the votes.
Then, in the event that no candidate won more than 50 percent of the votes in the first round, the head of the Turkish High Election Board (YSK) announced that the decision would be made to hold another vote between the top two candidates on May 28.
