Opposition Labor has won the Australian parliamentary election after preliminary results

Labor leader Albanis has declared victory.

“The people of Australia have voted for change. This victory makes me humble, ”Albanis told cheering supporters in Sydney after Morrison confessed to defeat.

The Labor leader also promised that Australia would become a “superpower” of renewable energy.

Albanis said the leaders of the United States, Japan and India would join the summit in two days.

The Labor leader said his government team would take the oath of office on Monday, allowing him to attend a summit in Tokyo the next day with Penny Wong, who is expected to become foreign minister.

Labor is now on track to secure more seats in parliament than Morrison’s conservative coalition, according to ABC.

It is unclear at this time whether Labor will need allies to secure a majority.

Labor has so far secured 72 seats and the Conservative Coalition 51 seats. Parties need at least 76 seats to secure a majority.
