“We come to the Supreme Electoral Tribunal to present the request for annulment of the legislative election and also to ask that said election be repeated due to the serious violations of the Constitution (of the Republic) and the serious violations of the political rights of citizens and of all the candidates, the principle of not falsifying the popular will has been violated,” commented deputy Claudia Ortiz, who won a seat for San Salvador.
The president of the Nationalist Republican Alliance (ARENA), Carlos Saade, added that they support the request for the annulment of the legislative elections of February 4 “because we will always be defenders of democracy and freedom.”
