Opportunity for Expats on Recently Closed Company Visas to Transfer to Other Establishments in Kuwait

KUWAIT CITY: Opportunity for expats on visas of recently closed companies in Kuwait to transfer their visas to other establishments. This was reported by the local media quoting sources from the Manpower Public Authority of the country. Those who are on visas of companies whose files have been withheld recently will have the opportunity to switch to other companies.

Authorities have recently suspended the files of several companies citing reasons including ambiguity in addresses. According to the report published by Al Anba daily, the employees of these institutions are given the opportunity to change their visas on humanitarian grounds. But the authorities have put forward certain conditions for this. Important among the conditions is that only those who have worked in the closed company for at least 12 months will have the opportunity to change the visa.

Meanwhile, in the case of small and medium-sized companies, only expatriates who have worked there for at least three years can transfer their visa to other companies. But if there is no clarity about the terms, the workers can submit an application to the Deputies Department. It is reported that the authorities will check each application and take a decision.
