Oppo Watch X: Rebranded OnePlus Watch 2 with Wear OS, Snapdragon W5 Gen 1, and 1.43-inch AMOLED Panel

  • Oppo launched a new watch with the Wear OS operating system
  • At first glance, however, you can notice the similarity with the OnePlus Watch 2
  • They also have the same processors, memory capacity or battery life

The Chinese manufacturer Oppo has globally introduced its Watch X, which works with the operating system Wear OS, have a round dial and boast a very ambitious equipment. But when I look at them like that, I have a little impression that I’ve seen them somewhere before, not so long ago… and I’m right.

Oppo Watch X are indeed only the rebranded and slightly redesigned OnePlus Watch 2, which were revealed just a few days back as part of MWC 2024 and we informed you about them in a previous article. Although to say that the watch has changed visually is also only half true. The black version seems to be exactly the same as OnePlus, that is, except for the name (Platinum Black x Black Steel), but instead of green comes the Mars Brown variant, which has the same silver body, but a brown strap. This time, too, the watch relies on a stainless steel construction and an unusual protrusion with a crown and button.

Under the hood we again find a pair of processors – Qualcomm Snapdragon W5 Gen 1 aims to emulate Wear OS, and the BES2700 provides a cost-effective and closed RTOS. The memory capacity remains at 2 GB (RAM) and 32 GB (internal storage), with a 500mAh battery, the Oppo Watch X can last up to 100 hours of normal use in smart mode. It goes without saying that 1.43-inch AMOLED panel with 60Hz frequency and 466×466 pixel resolution.

The Oppo Watch X has so far debuted in Malaysia with a price tag of MYR 1,399, which translates to about CZK 6,900. We will probably have to wait a while for confirmation of availability in other countries.
