OPPO will sell the Watch Free wearable in the Netherlands. From March 11, the smartwatch with a 1.64 “OLED screen can be purchased for 99 euros. The watch includes sleep monitoring, sports modes and support for Android and iOS notifications.
The square OLED screen of the OPPO Watch Free has a resolution of 280×456 pixels and supports 100 percent of the DCI-P3 color gamut. The battery is 230mAh, with which the smartwatch should last a maximum of 14 days on a battery charge. After charging for 5 minutes, the watch should be able to work for a day.
The watch has, among other things, a sleep monitoring function and a ‘snoring risk assessment’ with which sleeping problems can be detected. To be able to evaluate that snoring, there is, among other things, an optical sensor and a heartbeat detector. The sleep monitoring function also displays the average sleep blood oxygen level, how often people snore and how loud they snore. The watch can also send bedtime reminders and analyze sleep latency, sleep duration and sleep phases such as light and deep sleep.
The Watch Free will also receive a six-axis motion sensor with which the watch, together with the optical heart rate sensor, should support more than 100 sport modes. The smartwatch should also be able to identify sport modes. The heart rate sensor is also used for 24-hour heart rate measurement, where the smartwatch vibrates if the heart rate gets too high.
After pairing with a phone, the Watch Free can also forward notifications, as well as call notifications, music controls and a phone search function. Pairing with a phone requires Android 6.0 or iOS 10.0. The watch is available in white and black, measures 46×39.7×10.6mm and weighs 32.6 grams, including strap. The length of the strap is 130 to 205mm.
