Oppo Reveals the Concept of a Cellphone with a Roll Screen

jpnn.com, JAKARTA – Oppo finally introduced the concept of a cellphone with a rollable screen, the Oppo X 2021, at the OPPO INNO DAY 2020 event.

“This technology is different from traditional screens, it can run well, using a motor roll so that the sudden pull will not damage the screen,” said PR Manager of Oppo Indonesia, Aryo Meidianto, in a virtual conference, Tuesday.

The Oppo X 2021 was developed with a continuously variable OLED display type screen innovation that can have two sizes.

The smallest size of this screen is 6.7 inches while the largest is 7.4 inches.

The concept of this device also carries three technological inventions that are the property of Oppo, including the Powertrain Roll Motor, 2-in-1 Plate, and the Warp Track high-strength screen laminate.

“2 in 1 plate screen technology, the structure of a screen comb. The left and right sides when rolled have a gap of 0, really tight to keep it smooth,” said Aryo.

In the process of developing the Oppo X 2021 device, Oppo has accumulated various experiences including patent rights.

Especially for the Oppo X 2021, Oppo has filed 122 patents, 12 of which are related to the mechanism on the roll screen.
