Highlight
- The Oppo Reno 11 Pro 5G can be said to be a ‘facelift’ product from the Oppo Reno 10 Pro 5G which was released in August 2023. The most significant difference can be seen from the design aspect which is now more ‘luxurious’ with unique textures and motifs. The weight is also slightly lighter than its predecessor.
- With a more expensive price of Rp. 1 million, this cellphone provides a larger internal memory capacity, namely 512 GB.
- In the photography aspect, the camera hardware used on the Oppo Reno 11 Pro 5G is completely the same as the Oppo Reno 10 Pro 5G. There are slight software improvements for better photo processing.
- The screen and battery capacity have also not changed. The chip has been updated from previously using Snapdragon 778G from Qualcomm, now using Dimensity 8200 from MediaTek.
- It could be an option for users who want to upgrade from an entry-level to a mid-range cellphone with an almost flagship experience. However, if you want to save more, the Oppo Reno 10 Pro 5G, which is IDR 1 million cheaper, actually provides almost the same experience.
Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – The mid-range cellphone market is increasingly competitive. HP manufacturers are flocking to present flagship-flavored products, but at relatively affordable prices.
One of the mid-range cellphones that is most frequently released is the Reno series from Oppo. Starting in 2024, the Chinese manufacturer will release a duo of newest models, namely the Oppo Reno 11 5G and Reno 11 Pro 5G.
The release distance is only 5 months from the previous series, namely the Oppo Reno 10 5G, Oppo Reno 10 Pro 5G, and Oppo Reno 10 Pro+ 5G. It seems that Oppo doesn’t want to miss the momentum of the mid-range HP trend which has recently grown rapidly.
According to the IDC report, the mid-range cellphone market (Rp. 3 to 9.3 million) increased 16.8% year-on-year (YoY) in Q3 2023. Indonesian citizens are also increasingly interested in buying cellphones with a price range above US$ 600 or IDR 9.3 million.
This could also be the reason the Oppo Reno 11 Pro is being sold at a price of IDR 9 million or an increase of IDR 1 million compared to its predecessor. The higher price is compensated by the larger internal memory capacity, namely 512GB compared to 256GB on the Oppo Reno 10 Pro.
Of course, that’s not the only improvement offered. CNBC Indonesia had the opportunity to try out the Oppo Reno 11 Pro 5G for almost a month.
We use this cellphone to support our daily needs, such as accessing chat and social media applications, playing games, taking photos and videos, watching films and listening to songs, and so on.
For a cellphone worth IDR 9 million, the Oppo Reno 11 Pro 5G has several advantages that are worth appreciating. However, there are also notes that we think could be improved. Pay attention to the following points:
Luxurious and Functional Design
The design aspect is the main differentiator between the Oppo Reno 11 Pro 5G and the Oppo Reno 10 Pro 5G. Indeed, the size of the screen and body are relatively the same, but the back material is made more ‘luxurious’.
CNBC Indonesia has the ‘Rock Grey’ variant which is added with a glitter effect so it immediately attracts attention. The texture is mat and feels sturdy, especially with the aluminum frame on the sides.
Even though there are no complex motifs like the ‘Pearl White’ variant, the Rock Gray appearance feels classic, simple and elegant.
The back material has a glass feel with a matte finish so it is more comfortable to touch. No need to worry about the back getting dirty due to fingerprints, or your cellphone suddenly falling because it is slippery.
The rear camera panel protrudes slightly with a vertical orientation in an oval shape to accommodate the three cameras. On the bottom side there is an ‘Oppo’ logo which is made rather faint, so that it does not interfere with the overall design composition.
When held, the Oppo Reno 11 Pro 5G feels right in the hand thanks to the 3D curves on the front and back. The weight is also lighter, namely 181 grams compared to 185 grams on the Oppo Reno 10 Pro 5G.
The Rock Gray variant is slightly thinner than Pearl White, namely 7.66mm. You could say that the size, weight and design of the Oppo Reno 11 Pro 5G really think about the comfort and functionality of using a cellphone.

In our opinion, the 6.7-inch OLED screen with a screen-to-body ratio of 93% is suitable for watching movies or playing games on a cellphone. Moreover, it is supported by a refresh rate of up to 120Hz which ensures a consistently smooth visual experience.
Above the screen there is a punch hole housing for placing the front camera. If you look at the front only, the Oppo Reno 11 Pro 5G and Oppo Reno 10 Pro 5G look identical.
The brightness level of the Oppo Reno 11 Pro 5G screen is stuck at 950 nits. It is still safe to use outdoors, but when exposed to direct sunlight during the day, the screen will feel dim even though it is set to maximum brightness.
