Oppo is heading to the Czech market. It relies on innovation, design and a strong background of the brand – MobilMania.cz

The Oppo brand has been entering the domestic market for several years since its arrival in Western European countries in 2018. In the meantime, further waves of expansion have taken place, including in neighboring Poland, but the Czech Republic will only see it now. Oppo wants to start selling its smartphones in the coming weeks, focusing mainly on more affordable 5G models.

Oppo is another of the big brands of the Chinese Five, which is taking advantage of the loss of market share of Huawei and Honor due to US sanctions. Even before Opp, the highly competitive Realme entered the Czech market at the end of 2019, and this spring another “related” brand Vivo appeared. All were once formed under the banner of the Chinese conglomerate BBK Electronics, but today they operate independently and compete with each other.

Oppo was founded specifically in 2004 and in a relatively short time it was enough to go down in history with several technological innovations. We can remember, for example, the first smartphone with a 10 × hybrid zoom in the camera, the first Oppo N1 model from 2014 with a rotating camera or the fastest fast Super VOOC charging at the time. The company is now represented in 40 countries around the world and is expanding rather prudently and gradually.

Emphasis on practical use

The basis of brand growth is investment. In 2019, Oppo invested $ 1.42 billion in research, and plans to invest $ 7.2 billion over the next three years. It operates 6 research institutes and 4 research centers, in which over 10,000 scientists and researchers work – that is 25% of all company employees. Products are created in 9 production centers, where 70% of production is fully autonomous and 90% of production testing is automated.

According to the brand, when designing smartphones, the brand focuses on four key features – design, camera, display and fast-charging battery. In particular, great emphasis is placed on design – the brand approaches it in such a way that the use of its products is above all comfortable and practical. Sometimes they are not afraid of experiments either, as evidenced in the past by the aforementioned Oppo N1 model or the first model of the Oppo Find X flagship series with a retractable top with hidden cameras.

As with the competing Viva, with which Oppo will probably be most often compared, the entry of the new brand into the Czech market will be gradual. Several models from its mid-range Reno 5 series will be the first to go on sale. In addition, Oppo also has an A series with lower models in its portfolio, as well as a premium Find X. in the camera, we don’t know yet.
