Oppo has improved its flexible clamshell
The Find N3 Flip smartphone received a redesigned camera including a telephoto lens
Availability is also expected on the global market
Only last month, the flexible Oppo Find N2 Flip smartphone hit the Czech market, and its successor is already here. The Chinese company presented the Find N3 Flip in its homeland, which resembles the original model in some ways, but brings several intergenerational improvements, especially in the area of the chipset and the main camera. What has the manufacturer improved?
Oppo Find N3 Flip has grown to all dimensions
Oppo’s developers didn’t sweat too much when designing the latest clamshell, it almost seems like they used last year’s chassis and replaced a few components. The dimensions of the phone have changed only cosmetically, growing in all three dimensions (surprisingly) to the final 166.4 x 75.8 x 7.8 mm in the open state. The weight also increased, to 198 grams.
Unfortunately, the declared water resistance is still lacking, but the manufacturer has left nothing to chance when it comes to mechanical resistance – the Seiko hinge, built from alloys used in aviation and space, is supposed to withstand up to 600,000 folds. The displays are on paper the same as last year. Inside is a flexible LTPO AMOLED panel with Full HD+ resolution and a variable refresh rate (up to 120 Hz), on the back we find a classic AMOLED display with a diagonal of 3.26″ and a resolution of 382 × 720 pixels.
While the external display of the Oppo Find N2 Flip was considered huge last year, it no longer looks so majestic in this year’s competition with the Motorola Razr 40 Ultra or the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5. Fortunately, it hasn’t lost any of its capabilities – it can display widgets, launch practically any application, you can set weather wallpaper on it, etc.

For the first time with three cameras on the back
The key novelty of the Oppo Find N3 Flip is the set of cameras. Compared to last year’s model, the number of lenses has been increased – this year there are a total of three cameras in the raised circular module:
50 Mpx main (Sony IMX890) with f/1.8 aperture 48 Mpx wide-angle (Sony IMX581) with 114° angle of view and f/2.2 aperture 32 Mpx with 2x optical zoom (Sony IMX709) and f/2.0 aperture Oppo Find N3 Flip in all three available colors
In the cutout of the flexible display, there is also a 32MP selfie camera with an aperture of f/2.4 built on an RGBW Sony IMX709 sensor. Hasselblad took care of color tuning for all cameras.
The more modern 4nm MediaTek Dimensity 9200+ chipset with an eight-core processor and Immortalis-G715 graphics also helps with better photos and videos. It has 12 GB of RAM, storage will be offered in capacities of 256 or 512 GB. The memory capacity is finite, there is no support for expansion cards – the inside of the phone can accommodate a maximum of two nanoSIMs.
In the field of wireless connectivity, you can rely on the latest 5G, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.3 or NFC standards. The physical USB-C port then charges the battery with a capacity of 4,300 mAh and supports fast 44W charging, wireless charging is unfortunately not present. The phone runs Android 13 with ColorOS 13.2 superstructure.
Price and availability
The Oppo Find N3 Flip will be available in Moonlight, Rose and Black (Yellow-White, Pink and Black) and will be sold in China at the following prices:
12/256 GB for 6,799 CNY (about 25,000 crowns with VAT) 12/512 GB for 7,599 CNY (about 28,000 crowns with VAT)
Sales in China will begin on September 8, however, the company’s product chief Pete Lau confirmed later availability in the global market – for this occasion, we will see a separate launch event, which will take place “soon”.
