“Oppo Factory in Tangerang Upgrades to Produce Flagship and Foldable Phones in Indonesia”

TANGERANG, KOMPAS.com – Last year, Oppo inaugurated its newest factory, Oppo Manufacturing Indonesia, which is located on Jl. Bayur, Periuk, Tangerang City, Banten.

The 10-hectare factory is used to assemble lower-middle-class Oppo phones, such as the Oppo A Series to the Oppo Reno Series.

However, since April 2023, the Oppo factory in Tangerang has undergone an “upgrade” so that it does not only assemble lower-middle-class phones, but also high-class phones, aka flagships.

In fact, the Oppo factory in Tangerang is now also able to produce foldable phones which will soon launch in Indonesia, namely the Oppo Find N2 Flip.

According to Oppo Indonesia’s Chief Marketing Officer, Patrick Owen, the upgrade to Oppo’s factory capabilities was carried out as Oppo’s effort to comply with the latest government regulations, namely assembling flagship phones domestically.

In addition, with the production of the Oppo Find N2 Flip in Indonesia, it is proof that the Chinese cellphone vendor is serious about working on the folding cellphone segment in Indonesia.

“This is a form of Oppo’s seriousness towards the Indonesian market by presenting the production of flagship smartphones for the first time in the country, so that we can serve consumers even better,” said Patrick during the Oppo factory visit, Thursday (5/5/2023).

The upgrade in question refers to the two new machines used in the production of the Oppo Find N2 Flip folding phone, namely a special humidity machine and an anti-scratch installation machine.

Oppo Indonesia is also deploying more workers in the production process for these high-end mobile phones.
