At the same time, the brand entered the European markets recently and has only been officially in the Czech Republic for a few months. Sales of two models Reno 5 started at the beginning of the summer, now the offer is being expanded by another model.
Unfortunately, on top models Find X we will have to wait, this time Oppo starts selling the A16s model on the Czech market. This is also the basic model within the A series. Elsewhere in Europe, the Oppa range is richer, with only the A Series offering five or more models. Elsewhere, there are even more devices, Oppo apparently chooses a different set of models for different markets.
Oppo A16s is a novelty that definitely does not want to attract equipment, but rather relies on design and workmanship. The cover is made of aluminum with a metallized frame around the display and also with an interesting surface finish. The dark version has a blue tinge, while the light blue has a special AG Frost treatment that resists fingerprints.
However, the manufacturer will be paid for the premium processing. The novelty will cost CZK 4,390, which is not a very low price with regard to the equipment. But it’s no surprise, Oppo is not a cheap brand, it presents itself as a premium among Chinese manufacturers and generally does not engage in price battles with Xiaomi or Realme.
The display has a 6.52-inch diagonal with HD + resolution and a common refresh rate of 60 Hz. The processor was added by Mediatek, it is a Helio G35. The memory set is a standard basis, ie 4 GB of operating and 64 GB of user memory.
The manufacturer promotes a large battery, used a cell with a capacity of 5,000 mAh, which is now a common capacity, charging is 10W. The good news is the presence of the NFC chip, which is still missing in many models in the low-end category.
The camera fully corresponds to the low-end category. The front has a resolution of 8 Mpix, the rear has three sensors. The main one has a resolution of 13 Mpix, next to it there is also a macro and a depth of field sensor. Both with a resolution of 2 Mpix.
Overall, the Oppo A16s is a well-designed device with above-average workmanship. The equipment is average and does not interest anything fundamental. The price of CZK 4,390 is not completely low, the question is whether customers will appreciate the surcharge for design and processing. The phone will be sold at T-Mobile and Vodafone.
