After OnePlus, OPPO is now also stricting the Swedish camera manufacturer Hasselblad to make the cameras of the flagship Find X5 even better.
–
Both companies announce immediately entered into a strategic partnership for three years. The Swedish photography specialist will assist OPPO in researching and developing new, innovative camera technologies. In a first phase, OPPO wants to use Hasselblad’s expertise to software boost the color calibration of its own cameras. We should already see the first fruits of the collaboration in the upcoming Find X5 flagship series that OPPO will announce very soon.
Friend at home
It is certainly no coincidence that OPPO has chosen Hasselblad as its R&D partner. Since March 2021 the photo camera manufacturer already supports OnePlus, which, like OPPO, is part of the Chinese smartphone consortium BBK Elektronics. Although the sister brands basically go their own way, we see OPPO and OnePlus gradually growing closer to each other. For example, OnePlus smartphones have also been running on OPPO’s ColorOS shell since Android 12. An evolution that has been met with mixed feelings by the OnePlus community.
With the OnePlus 9, OnePlus entered their new camera era almost a year ago. When we reviewed the device last year, we were pleasantly surprised by the many vibrant colors and noticed an immediate difference in the quality of the photos compared to our previous experiences with OnePlus smartphones.
Lancering OPPO Find X5
The announced collaboration with Hasselblad therefore makes us look forward to the OPPO Find X5. In combination with the previously announced MariSilicon X NPU chip The Find X5’s camera setup rivals that of competitors such as the iPhone 13 Pro Max and Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra. It will most likely be officially announced before the end of February, just before or during MWC 2022. You can then read everything about the OPPO Find X5 on TechPulse.
