Oppo released a new cellphone from the A series, namely the A98 5G, which is promised to have high performance and long battery life.
Oppo A98 5G comes with a large battery capacity of 5,000 mAh which is equipped with flagship smartphone charging, 67W SUPERVOOCTM. In addition, this device is equipped with a 120Hz Ultra Smooth Display, RAM Expansion technology, and the latest ColorOS 13.1 operating system.
The 67W SUPERVOOCTM battery charging technology is claimed to be able to charge the 5,000 mAh battery on the A98 5G from empty to 100% in 44 minutes. Charging for 5 minutes is also enough to make phone calls for 6 hours, or watch YouTube for 2.5 hours.
When fully charged, the 5,000 mAh battery can last for 39 hours of phone calls, 16 hours of YouTube watching, or 8.4 hours of gaming, providing a long-lasting and smooth smartphone experience all day long.
The A98 5G is also equipped with a Battery Health Engine that allows the battery to maintain 80% of its capacity after 1,600 charge and discharge cycles, maintaining battery performance for up to four years of use assuming an average charge of once a day.
“With the Battery Health Engine, it can maintain 1,600 charging cycles. If you charge it once a day, it can take four years,” said Baskoro Adiwiyono, Head of PR Oppo Indonesia, at the launch event in Jakarta, Thursday (14/9/2023).
Oppo A98 5G specifications
The brain used in the A98 5G is Snapdragon 695 5G, which is claimed to provide powerful performance but is still power efficient. Paired with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage, which can be expanded using microSD up to 1TB.
There is also a RAM Expansion feature, so that unused storage can be converted into temporary RAM with a maximum capacity of 8GB. The screen measures 6.72 inches with a refresh rate of 120Hz.
Oppo claims the A98 5G also passed the 48 Month Fluency Protection test carried out in the Oppo lab. Results have documented an average performance degradation rate of less than 10% after four years of daily use.
The main camera has a resolution of 64MP, accompanied by a 2MP depth sensor and a 2MP macro camera, as well as a 32MP selfie camera. This camera is equipped with various features such as Portrait Mode, AI Portrait Retouching, Selfie HDR, AI Color Portrait, and many more.

Oppo A98 5G is available in Fantasy Blue and Elegant Black. The Oppo A98 is priced at IDR 4,899,000 which can be pre-ordered from 14-21 September 2023.
