OPPO A54s with 60Hz screen is more expensive than predecessor with 90Hz LCD – Tablets and phones – News

OPPO releases its A54s in the Netherlands. The device has a 60Hz screen and a MediaTek G35 soc. Last year’s A53s had a 90Hz LCD and a Snapdragon 460-soc. With an introductory price of 219 euros, the A54s is also more expensive than its predecessor.

The screen of the entry-level model also gets a downgrade. OPPO gives the A54s a MediaTek Helio G35 soc. That is a 12nm octacore with eight Cortex-A53 cores. Last year’s A53s contained a Snapdragon 460, an 11nm SOC with a combination of four A73 cores and four A53 cores. Like the predecessor, the new model has 4GB of RAM and 128GB of flash storage.

The primary camera of the A54s has a 50-megapixel resolution and an f/2.2 lens; that was a 13Mp copy with the predecessor. The aperture is unchanged. The smartphone can film in 1080p resolution with a maximum of 30fps. On the back is also a 2-megapixel camera with black and white sensor and a macro camera with 2-megapixel sensor.

Last year also appeared a cheaper A53, which was similar to the A53s, but equipped with less storage memory. This year, OPPO does not have a cheaper A54 model in its range. Well there are the OPPO A16 en A16s, which have been on sale for several months now. Those devices are almost the same as the A54s, but have 64GB of storage and a 13-megapixel camera.

OPPO also has the A54 5G announced in April in its range. It has better specifications, including a screen with a refresh rate of 90Hz, a higher resolution and a 5G soc. That device came out for 269 euros.
