‘Oppenheimer’ Surpasses $1 Billion Mark, Becomes Highest-Grossing Film About Second World War

‘Barbenheimer’ scores worldwide. Just recently it was announced that ‘Barbie’ passed the $ 1 billion mark. But ‘Oppenheimer’ is also doing very well and has already brought in more than 550 million dollars (about 503,874,250 euros).

Thanks to this successful box office turnover, director Christopher Nolan surpasses his own record with his previous war film, 2017’s ‘Dunkirk’, which grossed around 527 million dollars (482,803,145 euros) worldwide. Irish actor Cillian Murphy also plays in both films. ‘Oppenheimer’ can (already) officially call itself the highest-grossing film about the Second World War ever. The historical print outshines many wartime classics, including ‘Pearl Harbour’.
