In Opole, another day of the 58th National Festival of Polish Song organized by Telewizja Polska. Yesterday and the day before yesterday, the president of TVP Jacek Kurski appeared in the audience – you could see that he was playing with his wife and daughter. Kurski commented on this year’s Opole for TVP’s “Gościa Wiadomości”: “The festival is a triumph of Polish music”.
He also referred to the great white and red flag hung on the Piast Tower visible from the amphitheater. “It has been wondering for years why the Polish flag is not here, since we are celebrating such a wonderful holiday of our music. I am happy that this year we managed to do so. Opole is a symbol of Polishness. For centuries, Opole Silesia was in German hands, although it is native Polish. What’s more, this year in social media, Internet users, instead of artists, focus their attention on the president of TVP, who – in their opinion – is shown extremely often on a vision. “In this Opole, there is someone besides Mr. Kurski?”, “Kurski has already sung in Opole?” – they ask ironically and it’s hard to disagree with them. The Polish Television camera shows Jacek Kurski, who plays at the Opole amphitheater, very often.
