The auto expert believes that the price of cars after the start of production at the former Volkswagen plant will not decrease for a number of reasons.
“New Chinese cars start at two million. But objectively, it should be understood that those cars that are being transported from China to the Russian Federation cost about 800-900 thousand rubles on the Chinese market. And we are already selling 2 million, ”
– said Dmitry Serov.
The main reasons for the high price of the same machines in Russia are related to: tax deductions, VAT, certification fees and the distributor’s commission. In addition, the dealer carries out his own margin. Therefore, the auto expert believes that the launch of production at the plant is unlikely to affect the cost of cars.
“If the weakening of the ruble against the dollar and the yuan continues, then prices may rise by another 200-300 thousand rubles. I would probably advise those who can wait to buy a new car to do so.”
