Be it Amavasya or Purnima, Sankranti or Ganga Dussehra, Kartik Snan or Magh Snan, a large number of mothers and sisters have taken a dip in Ganga ji for the prosperity of their families and safety of their children. Whether the weather was favorable or unfavorable, piety could not stop them. Whether there is any facility or not, he has done the most difficult sadhna. Even the problems after bath could not stop him. Women have to face the most difficulty in changing clothes after bath. He never complained nor kept any hope.

But the Yogi government realized this problem of mothers and sisters and started working on a plan to provide facilities for changing clothes after bathing. Readers know that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is seriously engaged in the development of pilgrimage sites. The Yogi government, especially engaged in paving the way for the rejuvenation of the holy places situated on the Ganga and its banks, is going to expand another new facility for the devotees.

Floating changing room was started at Dashashwamedh Ghat under pilot project so that devotees do not have any problem in changing clothes after bathing in Ganga. Right from the beginning, the devotees coming for bath took this facility immediately. This floating changing room built under the pilot project has proved to be of public utility. According to a figure, 4 lakh people have taken advantage of the facility of floating changing rooms so far this year.

After the success of the floating changing room with the pilot project, plans are now being made to implement the Dashashwamedh model on a large scale. Floating changing rooms are also to be built at 6 other ghats of Banaras. It is estimated to cost about Rs 5 crore 70 lakh on these.
On July 7 and 8, 2023, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be on a two-day visit to Kashi. He will lay the foundation stone of the construction work on 6 ghats of Kashi on July 7 itself, while implementing the very ambitious scheme related to public concern.

Devotees coming to Banaras (be it men or women) used to feel uncomfortable in changing clothes at the ghats after bathing in the Ganges. But due to the problem of space, no permanent solution could be found, in such a situation, the idea of ​​floating changing room made space and by removing the lack of space, initiative was taken to make it in the water itself. Devotees have praised the floating changing room built at Dashashwamedh Ghat. While it has not been formally inaugurated yet. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will also inaugurate the floating changing room built at Dashashwamedh Ghat. Along with this, he will also lay the foundation stone of floating changing rooms to be built on 6 other ghats. There are plans to set up floating jetty changing rooms at Rajendra Prasad Ghat, Assi Ghat, Shivala Ghat, Raj Ghat, Kedar Ghat and Panch Ganga Ghat. Each floating changing room will have separate changing rooms for 10 women and 10 men.

Ignored by previous governments
This was the situation for several decades. Devotees come, take bath and leave. No one showed seriousness towards this practical problem of his. Neither the administration woke up nor the public representatives took care. Due to not having a proper place to change clothes, the devotees used to get very upset. The Yogi government is determined to solve these problems.

The Chief General Manager said that for the convenience and safety of the pilgrims taking bath, a floating jetty was ready at Dashashwamedh Ghat in June. Everyday around 5 thousand devotees are using this changing room. It was used by 55 thousand people in the last Ganga Dussehra.
