“What we call chance is and can only be the unknown cause of a known effect,” said Voltaire. The Orpea scandal clearly showed how the process of financialization led inexorably to a financial logic to the detriment of public health, and often to financial scams.
Faced with the current difficulties of our healthcare offer in all sectors, the risk of seeing an offer resulting from this financialization become widespread has never been greater in France. If we let it happen, as the social sciences teach us, the financial groups will condemn any possibility of rebuilding a universal model of solidarity in our country.
