Just a few days after the announcement by Skoda Germany, to postpone the BEV individual customer agency to the beginning of 2026, The sister brand VW Commercial Vehicles (VWN) is also pulling the plug. The launch of the agency model for January 1, 2026 in Germany will be delayed due to “operational challenges,” VWN announced in Hanover on Friday.
The group subsidiary had originally planned to launch the agency on October 1, 2024. A new date will be announced in due course, it said.
For now, continue with the dealer model
The manufacturer will continue to sell all vehicles through its own dealerships for the time being. The dealer association and dealers have already been informed of the decision, a company spokeswoman explained. “VWN will continue to be a strong partner for the success of its customers together with the dealerships.”
As before, the Hanover-based company will continue to handle its major customer business through agency sales.
More on the topic:
In the VW Group, Volkswagen, Seat/Cupra and Audi are already selling their electric cars in a fake agency model. VW Commercial Vehicles should follow suit shortly, before Skoda becomes the last brand to switch to the sales system at the end of 2024. The importer has now announced January 1, 2026 as the new launch date for the BEV individual customer agency. The conversion of processes and systems is also causing problems here.
