Operation Zebra Jaya 2023 in Jakarta: Hundreds of Traffic Violators Caught

Operation Zebra Jaya 2023 in Jakarta it has entered its 6th day. During 6 days of operation, hundreds of traffic violators caught in the operation.

South Jakarta Metro Police Chief Commissioner Ade Ary Syam Indradi said a total of 941 motorbike riders were caught in the operation. Of the 941 motorbike riders, 56 of them were electronically ticketed (e-TLE).

“A total of 941 motorbike riders were caught with 885 sympathetic warnings and 56 actions taken with electronic tickets (e-TLE),” said Ade Ary in his statement, Saturday (23/9/2023).

Apart from taking action, the South Jakarta Metro Police Traffic Unit also carries out socialization on traffic order. The police put up banners and distributed pamphlets to motorists.

“With this operation, it is hoped that the number of accidents that can result in material fatalities or loss of life can be avoided,” he said.

Ade Ary said traffic safety starts with oneself. Drivers are expected to have awareness of traffic rules.

“Everything starts from oneself, namely discipline and orderly traffic,” he added.

Drivers are expected to change bad behavior in traffic.

“The remaining time during the operation will be used to prioritize education and increase community literacy,” he concluded.
