Jujuy Regional Hemotherapy Center organized a special activity called “My blood is your blood” within the framework of Children’s Day. This campaign aims to encourage blood donation from a young age.
Juan Contreras, a member of that center, pointed out the importance of building a culture of blood donation.
“It is essential that children see their parents donating blood, as this can encourage them to become donors in the future. We want blood donation to be seen as a positive and normal activity in family life,” said e.
Actions
The service carries out activities in schools and public places in the province.
In high schools they organize gatherings in which students who turn 18, parents and teachers participate; and in primary school he invites sixth and seventh grade students to present work on the subject.
Contracts
Those who are interested in donating blood must weigh more than 50 kilos, be between 18 and 65 years old; in the case of women, do not be pregnant or breastfeeding; well rested and present after a decent breakfast.
Donors must wait an hour and a half after eating any food before they can donate; It must be at least 12 months since they got a tattoo or piercing, and at least 3 months after donating.
The Regional Hemotherapy Center is located on Teniente Bolzán Street on the corner of Snopek, next to the Alto Comedero hospital.
