In 2022, Opération Enfant Soleil donated a total of $109,690 to six establishments in Chaudière-Appalaches, including Saint-Georges Hospital, which received $26,872.
The purpose of the money donated is, among other things, to improve the care offered to families in the region while allowing children to be treated near their homes in order to avoid transfers to specialized centres.
With this amount, the hospital purchased a nasolaryngoscope, a device that allows you to visualize the back of the throat, nose and larynx in children with nasal, pharyngeal or other problems. Since this equipment is not widely available in the region, it will make the care offered to the pediatric clientele more accessible.
The amount paid to the hospital will also finance the acquisition of two baby scales to facilitate follow-ups involving weight gain problems in children.
To date, Opération Enfant Soleil has donated $903,494 to this hospital.
