The concert will be performed by our own world-famous bass baritone Egils Siliņš, as well as the new stars of world opera music – Serbian soprano Marija Jeliča and Italian tenor Dario di Vietri.
The new Serbian opera diva Maria Jelic started a serious professional career only a few years ago, but has already won the sympathy of listeners and critics in many countries around the world.
Conductor Atvars Lakstīgala, who had a collaboration with Marija Jeličs last summer when she was the lead soloist at the Giacomo Puccini Opera Bohemia in a new production at the Jerusalem Lyrical Opera Festival in Israel, this singer is called one of Europe ‘s rising stars.
Atvars Lakstīgala: “Many leading soloists around the world invite Maria Jelic to perform both in her concert halls and at her various events. In her native Serbian capital, Belgrade, she performed with one of the world’s top 3 singers Plasido Domingo, who invited him to sing in a duet. She has also performed with our own diva Elīna Garanča. Last year, Maria Jelica’s solo concert at one of the most prestigious venues in the world, the Carnegie Hall in New York, was recorded with enthusiastic criticism. “
“I will meet Dario di Vietri in Italy for the first time, but I know that he is also a great authority in the circle of European opera soloists,” says Atvars Lakstīgala. Lucio Pavarotti’s student Dario di Vietri has won laurels and received significant criticism from many prestigious world opera houses.
