The JVLMA Symphony Orchestra has created a program of overtures from the operas of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart Don Juan and magic flute, and the operas of Carl Maria von Weber Oberons, Johannes Brahms The Tragic Overture, Franz Schubert Italian overture and Charles Gounod Little Symphony for brass nonet. The piece will be conducted by future conductors Klāvs Borozdins, Jēkabs Krists Kalniņš, Māris Kuģis, Jānis Lapsa, Krišjānis Circenis, Anastasija Gailīte and Edgars Samorodovs.
on March 2 at 18.00 program with the name of the concert Shoulder to shoulder will be performed at the Madona City Culture House, and JVLMA’s orchestra will be joined by students from the Jānis Norviļas Madona Music School, the Cesvaine Music and Art School, and the Eagle Art and Music School: the young euphonist Jāzeps Mālnieks will be able to hear Enriko Tosetti in a performance SerenadeKristiāns Bružs will sing the song of Jānis Lūsēns morning silence but the cellist Eduards Labucis will play the composition of Līga Celma-Kursiete Tit, finch. The students’ compositions from the Madona region will be conducted by JVLMA professor, conductor Viesturs Gailis.
JVLMA Concert Series Shoulder to shoulder already since 2019, has been providing regional music school students with the opportunity to gain practical and creative experience in a large artistic collective under the guidance of the teaching staff of the Music Academy. This initiative increases students’ interest in the profession of musician, while for JVLMA students it is good concert practice and an addition to their pedagogical skills. Project Shoulder to shoulder is implemented thanks to the support of the State Cultural Capital Fund, so the entrance to the concert is free.
