The 7 minutes and 36 seconds of the opening video of Takeshi Kitano’s “Neck”, which is currently in theaters, will be released for a limited time until 23:59 on January 4, 2024. It has started to be released on YouTube, and will also be distributed on Niconico Live Broadcast from 9pm on December 15th. The film opens with a scene in which the title “Head” is cut off, followed by a shocking video of a freshwater crab coming out of the neck of a samurai whose head was taken off in battle, so YouTube has set an age restriction.

Niconico Live Broadcast will open on December 15th at 8:50 pm, start at 9:00 pm, and end at 9:08 pm, and will be archived until 11:59 pm on January 4, 2024.

Director Kitano spent 30 years planning this blockbuster Sengoku period spectacle, and it was a long-awaited dream of master director Akira Kurosawa, who said, “If Kitano-kun were to film this, it would be a masterpiece on par with “Seven Samurai.” A film adaptation of the project. As soon as it was released, it became a hot topic with comments such as “The culmination of Kitano from around the world” and “I wanted to see a Sengoku period drama like this!”

The opening video, which is so shocking that it is definitely rated R18!, is filled with relentless blood splatter, violence, and a finish that foreshadows the deaths of the characters. A complete change from the silent headless samurai and the freshwater crab, the stage shifts to a battle scene where Murashige Araki (Kenichi Endo) rebels against Nobunaga (Ryo Kase). Although Nobunaga was victorious in the long battle that lasted a year and a half, Murashige escaped.

Nobunaga was betrayed and run away by Murashige, a vassal he loved, and gathered his vassals, including Hideyoshi (Beat Takeshi) and Mitsuhide (Nishijima Hidetoshi), and ordered them to capture Murashige. I will even clarify about this.

He said, “Don’t let a bald person decide on his own! You idiot!” “You’re a hard worker and you choose your heir, so work like you’re willing to die for me!” Kase’s performance, in which he insults his vassals in his fast-talking Kawachi dialect and explodes with flying kicks, is the very epitome of a “common man who is in a state of ecstasy.”

However, the scene does not just show Nobunaga being ecstatic, but also the fear of not knowing what he will do to him, as well as the charisma of Nobunaga, who skillfully uses the bait of “traces” to manipulate his vassals.
