We can say that Nicolas and Laetitia Beauvais had a fine nose. Thursday November 2, 2023, while powerful gusts of wind terrorized Seine-Maritime, they opened their transalpine gastronomy shop to the harbor (Seine-Maritime) : “To the Gourmets of Italy”.
“At least it allowed us to get our bearings,” puts Laetitia into perspective. And then, to Central Hallswhere they took over the 90 square meter premises of a florist, there are always people.
“It became obvious”
It was therefore a breathtaking departure for this couple who decided to drop everything to start your business. He worked in construction, she in decoration. “We wanted to do something else and work together,” confides Nicolas. Our children are 13 and 17 years old, they have personalities that have convinced us thatwe could afford to take risks. »
We both put the brakes on working together for a long time… And then it became obvious
“Everything comes from Italy!” »
The two forties live in Seine-Maritime, just an hour from the ocean city. A city that they discover with wonder. In their store, they offer a wide range of Italian products. Pizzas, fresh pasta, cheese, cold meats and wines, of course, but also desserts or aperitif cakes. “And it all comes from Italy!” »specifies Laetitia.
“Quite rare” wines
Among the wines, they have some “fairly rare bottles”, such as a Sangue d’Oro. “We are the only ones in Le Havre to have them,” assures Nicolas. In total, we have the widest range of Italian gastronomy for miles around. » For lasagna alone, Aux Gourmets d’Italie prepares around thirty recipes.
Both managers have no Italian origins, but fell in love with the culture over time. “We are epicureans at heart,” slips Nicolas Beauvais. If they don’t have a hollow nose, they can at least count on their palate.
