The 11th International Photo Salon Plovdiv opens today at 6 p.m. The event takes place with the support of the Municipality of Plovdiv, the Municipal Institute “Ancient Plovdiv” and is part of the program of the Autumn Art Salon Plovdiv 2024. In the exhibited exhibition of the Ancient Theater, over 120 photographs of 92 authors from 23 countries are presented. The event is held under the patronage of FIAP, HPS, NSFA and with the traditional support of the Plovdiv municipality.

The exhibition SELECTED from the 11th MFS Plovdiv 2024 will be exhibited on the fence of the Ancient Theater, north entrance, Plovdiv; The opening is at 18:00 on 28.09.2024. The exhibition can be viewed until October 18, 2024. A five-member international jury evaluated all the submitted photographs. The jury was chaired by Romain Nero, EFIAP/p, HonEFlAP, (Luxembourg) and members: Vasya Doberlet, MFIAP, EFIAP/d1 (Slovenia), Rasa Milojevic, EFIAP/p, ESFIAP (Serbia), Dimitrina Vasileva, EFIAP (Bulgaria) , Ivo Bobev, EFIAP (Bulgaria) and alternate member Hristo Dimitrov, AFIAP (Bulgaria). The jury examined and evaluated the 5,033 submitted photographs by 350 authors from 37 countries. With high professionalism and expertise, the jury determined the awards of the 11th MFS Plovdiv 2024. The best photographs won 188 individual awards, 11 statistical awards for authors and photo clubs. This rich prize pool has awarded the highest honor to the works of a total of 124 authors from 25 countries. For the final selection, the jury chose 1384 photographs of 284 participants from 34 countries“, said Anton Savov, from the team of organizers.
The first exhibition of the 11th MFS Plovdiv 2024 was opened on August 10 at Rimski Stadium Square, where the awards were presented to all the authors present with award-winning photographs. The big news for Bulgarian photography is that The saloon cup stayed in Bulgaria for the first time. The gold medal of FIAP and the cup of the salon won the photography “Potop 1” by Ljubomir Benkovski from the Association “Photo Artists”, Pleven. The Photographic Society of Greece (HPS) Best Show Entry Plaque went to Barbara Schmidt, EFIAP/d1 from Germany. Abhishek Bisak, AFIAP, EFIAP, HON.CPE, A.NPS ,IIG/P, HON.PESGSPC, IIG/S2,A.CPE from India won the Best Performing Foreign Author Plaque. The plaque “The best presented Bulgarian author” went to Yavor Michev, EFIAP. Milan Hristev, AFIAP, received the “Best presented Plovdiv author” plaque. The ‘Best Performing Photo Club’ plaque again went to the club from India – India International Group, and the runner-up club plaque went to Photoclub NEUTZOEG, Austria.
The Municipality of Plovdiv awarded Sasho Yotkov with an Honorary Diploma in Photography. Photographs by Bulgarian and foreign authors were awarded prizes from partners: Diploma of the Municipality of Plovdiv; Photo Cafe; DAN Travel EOOD; Patriotism Committee; Plovdiv Foundation 2019; PS Clinic; ViArt Foundation and Travel Tales Award.
“It is important for us that in the challenge to young authors (16-25 years), more than 50 young people from countries from 4 continents joined: North America, Europe, Asia and Africa. 52 photographs of 20 young people remained in the selection. Among them there are authors with individual awards. Two promotional diplomas were awarded for the best performance of young people (one Bulgarian and one foreigner): Radoslav Sviretsov and Joseph Nasser, Egypt. With great pride, we can state that Bulgaria and Bulgarian authors performed well again this year. Their works will reach 37 countries through the printed album, which according to the regulations each participant in the competition will receive. A total of 37 native photo artists won 52 awards, with 12 of these awards being medals. This year, in addition to the traditional participation and good performance of artists from Bulgarian groups – members of NSFA, Photographic Association Plovdiv and Photo Club Sevlievo, the Photo Artists Association, Pleven was addedAnton Savov also said.
In the second exhibition of the 11th MFS Plovdiv 2024 at the Ancient Theater, north entrance, Plovdiv, a selection of award-winning photographs, part of the partner awards and photographs remaining in the selection have been selected. Every year, this exhibition focuses on Bulgarian authors from Plovdiv and a selection of Bulgarian authors and foreign authors with photographs from the final selection.
This year, the organizers present the overall participation of the “Best Plovdiv Author” at the 11th IFS Plovdiv 2024 – Milan Hristev, AFIAP, with 3 photographs awarded with medals and the “Best Travel Photographer and Storyteller” Plaque at the Travel Tales Award in the current edition of MFS Plovdiv. Several of the Travel Tales Award 2024 winners are also featured.
A catalog-album from the XI International Photo Salon Plovdiv 2024 will be presented to every Bulgarian author who participated in the 11th MFS Plovdiv 2024, who is present at the opening of the exhibition.
