In the drinking water sector, 2020 ended with the adoption of European directive 2020/2184 on the quality of water intended for human consumption. In particular, the improvement of water quality is the subject of numerous provisions.
Following a first edition in 2006 and faced with new regulatory and technical challenges, the Astee Drinking Water Commission decided to update its guide “Regulation and treatment of water intended for human consumption”.
This new version is aimed at a multiple audience, such as contractors, managers of water purification treatment plants, officials, decision-makers, teachers and students.
It presents the different stages to be implemented for the design of a water production installation intended for human consumption and provides numerous technical elements on the processes and technologies for drinking water treatment. Several additions are made, in particular on new applications of activated carbon or the use of membrane techniques.
This guide is supplemented by a set of digital files on pollutants, which will be updated regularly according to technical and regulatory developments.
The work is presented in three parts:
- a section on water treatment techniques for drinking water which is printed ;
- a sheet on the regulations relating to water intended for human consumption, available in the form of a digital plug ;
- a section on parameters, available as a digital cards.
Pre-orders for this guide are open from February 4 until April 24, 2021.
