Today is scheduled for the opening hearing of the trial ordered against the singer of llanera music Alcides Padilla, accused of the alleged commission of crimes of sexual abuse without penetration, according to judicial sources.
The start of this trial has been postponed eleven times, according to a complaint filed by her defense lawyers who presume that there is influence peddling because the complainant is the wife of a public prosecutor.
Padilla was arrested last February by a commission of the Bolivarian National Police (PNB) which arrested him in Guanare (Portuguesa) and transferred him to Barinas where the case is open.
The arrest followed a complaint filed by Padilla’s ex-wife, who accused him of abusing their daughter. At the time of the facts, Padilla’s daughter was 12 years and 9 months old, according to the birth certificate placed in the file at the request of the singer’s lawyers.
The start of the oral debate to determine the innocence or guilt of counterpointer Llanero is scheduled for this Monday before the Single Court of First Instance Specialized in Gender Violence of the State of Barinas, presided over by Judge Sara Cordero.
Several Copleros friends of Padilla gathered this Monday morning near the Barinas Courthouse to express their solidarity with the artist. They improvised verses accompanied by the harp in a sort of collective counterpoint, according to a video posted on social networks where we can see the singers Eimer Escalona (El Pollo de Moroturo), Carlos Alvarado and Ramón Villarreal, among others.
