To celebrate the new fun court properly, the Frankenfels municipal councils, supported by FCU Frankenfels, organized a football tournament on Sunday. FCU chairman Jürgen Sickinger and youth leader Bernhard Datzreiter were delighted that the children’s and youth teams were able to officially inaugurate the artificial turf in the morning. Lukas Ihrybauer was crowned top scorer.
In the afternoon, the Frankenfels clubs competed against each other. The players of the tennis club secured the victory. The Weißenburg volunteer fire brigade took second place, and Team Boding third. Top scorer was Manuel Pieber from the Frankenfels volunteer fire brigade.
The market town of Frankenfels, the Raiffeisenbank Frankenfels and the bakery Alfred Leb sponsored the prizes for the best teams. The prizes were presented by Mayor Herbert Winter, sports councilor Christoph Wutzl and school director Rüdiger de Zordo.
The large-scale generation park project was completed with the construction of the fun court. The Funcourt project was supported by Lower Austria Village and Urban Renewal and Sportland Lower Austria.
